Background

Methods

  • A retrospective analysis was done for 85 patients with CPA who underwent surgery.
  • The patients were categorized into 4 types- SA, chronic cavitary pulmonary aspergillosis (CCPA), chronic fibrosing pulmonary aspergillosis (CFPA) and aspergillus nodule (AN).
  • The preoperative, perioperative and postoperative data were utilized to evaluate the surgical treatment outcomes of different types of CPA.

Results

Conclusions

Surgical resection can be safely and effectively done for SA, AN, CCPA with a low complication and recurrence rate. Surgery for CFPA should involve only select patients on the account of a higher complication rate.
